Cross-Country Skiing

With cross-country skiing, not only do you get to enjoy the crisp mountain air and the stunning scenery, but you'll also get a great workout! There are plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiing in Breckenridge, with trails that are ideal for skiers of all ages and abilities. If you want to get a more intimate look at Breckenridge's beauty, cross-country skiing is the way to do it.

At the Breckenridge Nordic Center, you can take your pick of over 18 miles of ski trails. Whether you're looking for an easy trail or one that requires a bit more exertion, you're sure to find what you're looking for. Trails wind through National Forest lands and each trail is clearly marked. There are three warming huts on the trail system that make great mid-day destinations and offer beautiful views.

The center is located a half mile from Main Street and easily accessible on foot, by car, and by free shuttle. It offers rentals with no reservations required as well as daily, multi-day, and seasonal passes. Those who have never tried cross-country skiing, but want to learn, can take advantage of the center's group or private lessons.

After a long day of hitting the trails, feel free to kick back at the center's new lodge. You can unwind with a beer or a glass of wine, satiate yourself with a hot lunch, or just relax by the fireplace.

Even more cross-country trails are available at the Gold Run Nordic Center - over 16 miles of them! There are plenty of trails for beginners and advanced skiers alike, with tree skiing, gently rolling terrain, and incredible views of the Tenmile Range. There are even dog-friendly trails!

The center is located just north of town, on the Breckenridge Golf Course. Rentals are available on-site and there's a pro shop that's fully stocked with all the gear and all the brands you love. Daily, multi-day, and seasonal passes are available.

There's also a clubhouse where you can warm up by the fireplace, grab a bite to eat, or watch the game.
